A CEF summer intern helps run the Christian Youth In Action (CYIA) ministry for Colorado. The intern gets to help train up the next team of CYIA students, prepare materials for the summer, coordinate 5-Day Clubs, and work to advance the gospel among the kids of the city!
The internship lasts for up to 12 weeks, depending upon the candidate’s availability: May 24 – August 12, 2016. Ten of the weeks are paid, two are unpaid. (The unpaid weeks are CYIA training in which housing and meals are provided.) The intern should be available to work 40 hours/week during paid weeks. Wages are $11/hour. The intern is responsible to raise $3100 (60% of their required funds) and we will provide the remaining 40% from our General Fund. (Funds should be raised in full by the end of July.) The total $5200 package covers hourly wages, food and housing for Training Camp, and mileage reimbursement.
(Note: If you live outside of the Denver metro area, we can help to arrange housing for you during the internship.)
A key responsibility for an intern is to be a role model for the CYIA students. 1 Timothy 4:12 says: “Set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” This is a primary goal of your internship, especially during the 15 days of CYIA training.
Prior CEF training/experience is preferred, but not required. High school graduates are preferred. We are accepting applications through March 31.
To apply, please fill out CEF’s Online Employment Application. (For the question asking “Position(s) preferred,” please put “Summer intern for Greater Denver.”)
